Where We Meet

Naomi McKenzie is a photographer based in Toogoolawah, Queensland. Recently, McKenzie won the 2023 Emerging Artist Award of the Flying Arts Alliance Queensland Regional Art Awards. Her winning work is Where We Meet (2023).

Using texture, shadow, and reflection Where We Meet invites the viewer to contemplate our perspective both from a personal and universal point of view. The inverted image, coupled with the amalgamating shadow and reflections creates a sense of whimsical wonder throughout the scene.

Onespace will present McKenzie ‘s recent work in an online exhibition in June, where she will further explore the tension between her dual roles of mother and artist.
