Transitions is a partnered program between Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts and Townsville City Galleries. The program fosters mentorship for emerging North Queensland artists, and for the first time this year, an emerging arts writer. This year’s exhibition outcome pairs works by the artist mentees (Alicia Allen, Simsala Grimm, Daniel Meza and Natalie Simpson) with an essay by the writing mentee Michael Smith.
