The Luminosity Series

Evolving in the West Space Window is a new series by Arts Access Victoria, showcasing artists in the AAV Studios. Across six distinct presentations, The Luminosity Series explores themes of place, connection, family, dreams and fears, realities and imagination. The works shine a light on disability culture, with raw and authentic representations of strength, resilience and pride. The artists in this series work with mentors Betra Fraval, Alister Karl, and Dave Van De Leur in the AAV Studio Program in Collingwood Yards Arts Precinct, directly above West Space. Arts Access Victoria (AAV) is the peak body for arts and disability in the state.

They are disability-led and leading the continued development of a vibrant arts and cultural sector that reflects our society in every way. AAV have been producing and platforming the work of Deaf and Disabled people for over 50 years. West Space are proud to partner with AAV to continue this work. Many of the artists have exhibited widely, but for some, this is their debut presentation. The Luminosity Series is supported by the City of Yarra.

With: Maria Dimopoulos, Frank Iaquinto, Helen Henwood, Carmel Mancino, Jeff McNeill and Pascal Silence.
