Kairos Paintings

We are obsessed with time—its relentless passing, its indifference to human perception or intervention. In music, literature, and performance, narratives unfold sequentially. Painting, however, compresses time—each brushstroke builds upon the last, yet the final artwork exists as a singular moment of its making. Inspired by the Greek concepts of Chronos (measured time) and Kairos (the quality of time), this new series captures two distinct moments. Each canvas is halved geometrically and painted at different times, with each segment interrupting and completing one another, forming an unpredictable whole.
