“I was pretty lucky to end up here. For four or five years I was working from home here in Eltham, painting in my pyjamas. It was fine for a time but it got out of hand with two kids around. The tipping point came when my little girl painted over one of my paintings.”
“This isn’t actually my studio. It belongs to Adele Mills, and I’m just subletting it for three months while she’s away in America. I’ve had three different studios at Gertrude Contemporary: my own one while I was a studio artist from 2012 to 2014, and two others I’ve subletted for short periods while artists have been away on residencies.”
