The Sovereign Hill Museum

The Gold Museum is transitioning to two centres of deep learning and research that include the nationally significant Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades and Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. The Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections will build on Sovereign Hill’s rich collections and provide visitors with greater accessibility to the culturally significant collection. The Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections will be built in close proximity to the Rare Trades Centre providing an opportunity to connect contemporary practice with the richness of the entire museum collection. We’re looking forward to re-opening to visitors in late Spring 2022.
