Established in 1941, Sturt is the oldest craft centre in Australia.  Sturt is a national centre for the teaching, making and promotion of Australian contemporary craft and design and offers a wide range of courses and classes throughout the year in such areas as ceramics, woodwork, metalwork, design and fabrication, textiles and basketry,

Sturt is an essential destination for any visitor to the Southern Highlands.  Renowned for its wonderful gardens, award –winning contemporary design shop, a gallery with an all-year changing exhibition program and a perfectly located café.

The world-class Sturt School for Wood offers its full-time course each year teaching Australia’s future fine furniture makers and designers.
