Founded in 2010 Otomys began with a vision to connect emerging to mid career artists with collectors, in a manner of ease and passion. Over this time Otomys has nurtured the careers of over 70 Australian and International artists, held over 100 exhibitions and fostered a seamless integration of art installations which are often considerate of surrounding interiors.

Otomys offers an art consultancy service in Australia, a contemporary Melbourne gallery with a courageous exhibition schedule and an online gallery with an active exhibition viewing room.

Art is so much more than a visual experience; it adds unique and personal expression and emotional touch points to a home or work place.

Feature

The kimono is more than an artefact and more than clothing. It is a concept artists will make their own

Over 70 fabulous garments of exquisite craftsmanship – some made of silk with gold and silver embroidery and dazzling designs – have been assembled within a context of over 150 paintings, posters, wood block prints, magazines and decorative arts. Although many of the items have never been previously exhibited in Australia, most are now in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria, with many specifically acquired for this exhibition.
