Buxton Contemporary

The new purpose-built home for the Michael Buxton Collection, one of Australia’s most significant collections of contemporary art. Designed by renowned Australian architects Fender Katsalidis, Buxton Contemporary features five galleries, an education space, and one of Australia’s largest outdoor digital screens. Located within Melbourne’s Southbank arts precinct and embedded at the University of Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Buxton Contemporary offers a home and a broad cultural context for this extraordinary collection, which spans three decades of leading, influential Australian artists’ work, collected in-depth and across media.
