Beaver Galleries

Our exhibition programme includes the work of both established and emerging artists from all over Australia, with a significant representation from the Canberra region. It covers contemporary practice in a wide range of disciplines including: painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, glass and jewellery.

Two of the gallery spaces are given over exclusively to this exhibition programme while the rest of the gallery offers a frequently changing display of the work of selected gallery artists. The gallery is owned and run by Martin and Susie Beaver.

Over 70 fabulous garments of exquisite craftsmanship – some made of silk with gold and silver embroidery and dazzling designs – have been assembled within a context of over 150 paintings, posters, wood block prints, magazines and decorative arts. Although many of the items have never been previously exhibited in Australia, most are now in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria, with many specifically acquired for this exhibition.
