Art Guide Australia is an independent bimonthly print magazine and online platform featuring articles about contemporary Australian art, alongside a complete list of exhibitions taking place across Australia.

Developed and designed by a small team of creatives, we’re passionate about contemporary art and ideas and sharing these with an audience immersed in the visual arts, as well as those wishing to discover more about the art world. Our team of experienced and insightful writers cover a range of topics and issues, inspired by their conversations with artists, curators and gallerists, and our regular offerings include previews of key exhibitions, interviews, feature articles and opinions. Visits to artist studios give readers a glimpse into the inner workings of their personal spaces.

The publication was founded in 2000 by Graham Meadowcroft and Kim Butterworth and what was initially designed as a guide to exhibitions and galleries throughout Australia, has grown into a magazine dedicated to delivering the best arts writing—giving a voice to artists and creatives shaping the art of today.

Alongside the print magazine we publish articles on our website daily and have a series of podcasts, hosted by editor-in-chief Tiarney Miekus, speaking with artists and curators about art, life and everything in-between. Our rich archive of editorial articles—collated over the past 10 years plus—represents a vibrant and diverse picture of contemporary Australian art.
