Ukrainian DNA

Ukrainian DNA is an exhibition by Maru Jarockyj that highlights the infusion of her Ukrainian heritage with linear blocks and coloured cubic assemblies, resulting in a body of work defined by symbolic Ukrainian themes. Maru’s fascination with abstraction, geometry and fragmented forms is an enduring constant of her artwork, which spills onto the canvas in a symphony of eclectic lines. These lines, which resemble strands of strong Ukrainian DNA, represent the unbreakable yet extremely precious bonds that connect a ‘ukie’ person with heritage, family, community and beliefs.
