Noah Birch

the sum of all parts

WA-based sculptor Noah Birch looks to make works with a sense of ‘completeness’, of beauty, and to provide a contemplative moment. Society is not homogeneous, nor are his cubes and squares. Equity, diversity, equality and interconnectedness form a strong conceptual underlay that allows him to focus on creating the works that fit within his view without cliche or contrivance.

Birch uses abstraction as a unifier; there is nothing in the work that is not of the work, and it requires no specific knowledge to participate. All the elements, regardless of relative size or placement are part and parcel; it takes everything that is there to make the work complete.
