Stuffed, Bolstered & Upholstered

Aligning with the theme for the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial IOTA24, ‘Codes in Parallel In 2024’, this exhibition investigates systems of power as they are enacted upon bodies.

Utilising a broad definition of fibre & textiles, contemporary makers fuse traditions of old with a modern edge to create pieces that critique power dynamics.

Stuffed, Bolstered & Upholstered is a major showing of textile works from CCWA, UWAAC, Berndt with loans and commissions for new works.
