Sequence of Variables

Sequence of Variables presents a series of functional design objects and textiles based on original pattern designs emerging from a digital pattern generator. The work reflects on how generated patterns can be transformed into repeatable pattern designs, using a blend of traditional screen printing techniques and contemporary design applications. The exhibition continues Briedis’ exploration into surface ornamentation, specifically the interaction between tessellating imagery and shapes within repeat structures. Through her work, Briedis aims to contribute to discussions on the integration of digital tools in design and the potential of pattern in enhancing surfaces and spaces.
