Remnants

Remnants is an exhibition of installation, assemblage and mixed media works by Oak Beach artist Jill Chism.

Selected existing works will be presented in dialogue with new works, contextualising Jill’s career as an artist working in Far North Queensland since the early 1990s.

Rather than a dystopian view of the planet, Chism’s material investigations question our inevitable relationship with what remains of the natural world. Chism offers another, existential possibility of moving away from the cultural trance of separateness and materialism, towards an understanding of our connectedness, to each other and the cosmos.
