Erik Pobucky
Phantasmagoria
Pobucky invites viewers to interrogate the boundaries they unconsciously see the world through. The work presented in Phantasmgoria is connected by a metanarrative telling the story of a refugee’s journey from danger to safety, and how their struggles to forget their trauma ultimately lead to their destruction.
Using a range of traditional (acrylic/oil/watercolour paints, chalk, graphite pencil, and oil pastels) and non-traditional mediums (glues, resins, razor blades, nails, tobacco, ash) Pobucky creates visual explorations on the complexity of the human experience, capturing both the overarching moment and the multiple hidden-worlds within it.
Opening Event, Friday 31 May, 6pm–8pm.
