On Display: The Story of Artbank
Artbank celebrates our 45th Anniversary in August. To mark the occasion, we have compiled a beautiful book filled with images and client hangs, archival material and essays to tell the story of Artbank from 1980 through to today. To launch the book Artbank Melbourne is hosting an exhibition that brings the pages of the book to life filling the walls with “in real life” masterpieces mentioned in the book. Drawing from the identity and design of the publication, in conjunction with Artbank’s familiar visible storage model, the exhibition will present an iconoclastic snapshot of the program’s history. It tells a proud story of caring for Australia’s hardest working National Collection and providing 45 years of much needed artist support through timely acquisitions.
