Landscapes from the Heart

Sydney artist, Laraine Deer, is presenting her first exhibition in the MidCoast. This series of plein air paintings are the result of a seven month journey across parts of Australia in 2022.

The trip was explorative in nature, like a first taste, to respond to the vast coastlines and desert interiors of the West Australian coast, Central Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia.

Laraine wanted to experience a direct connection to the landscape working with natural light outside in all types of situations in the bush. The result is eighteen small works that delve into the heart of the Australian Landscape.
