Emergent Fields

Emergent Fields presents the work of three Melbourne based emerging artists. Caspar Connolly’s practice explores the intersection between nature and culture. He is particularly interested in the concept of the polysemous object—objects that can carry multiple interpretations simultaneously. Jieun Ha’s abstract painting focusses on the relationship between geometric forms and ordinary objects. Her process involves distorting and reinterpreting designs from accessible, everyday items, creating new meanings through fragmentation.

Camille Thomas explores themes of memory, identity, and emotionality through an expanded drawing practice. She often focuses on personal symbolism, self-portraiture, and feelings of home and coming of age. Her artistic approach emphasizes sensitivity to the placement of objects and imagery, which invites viewers to reflect on the fragility and malleability of memory.
