DISillusion/DISsolution

DISillusion/DISsolution is an artist’s response to the outcome of the 2023 Referendum on the Aboriginal and Torres Islander Voice. “The result of the Referendum deeply hurt many—especially my Aboriginal friends and family. I felt grief and uncertainty too. For over 15 years, my work has directly explored the importance of acknowledging and taking responsibility for my settler-colonial ancestors. This exhibition presents pieces that reflect both my discomfort and my hope for a united, healing future—one where truth and integrity bridge divides—through painting, sculpture, video, and fabric works.” — megan evans
