Solomon Booth
Changing tides
In this series of works Solomon Booth who is of Torres Strait and Aboriginal heritage explores themes that affect him as an indigenous man and how he navigates and makes sense of the modern world he is currently living in. Asking questions of “how far we have come to, where we need to go to maintain our identity and heritage.”
Solomon was a founding Committee member of Moa Arts and is the current Chairman, a role he takes seriously and with great pride and purpose. “This is a most exciting time in my career” he says. He is “inspired by the beautiful surroundings of my island home, my works draw upon Torres Strait and Melanesian influences.”
