Beyond Time

Beyond Time opens up a conversation about the artist’s exploration of the energy held in estuaries in both Tasmania and in Western Australia’s Derbal Yerrigan. The tidal movement sets a different pace with a constant ebb and flow stepping beyond contemporary timekeeping.

This body of work firstly bears witness to a critical event in the Pipeclay Lagoon signalling an ecological crisis. The parallel intersect of time in the urban ecologies of three saltmarshes remaining in Melville Waters reveals tentative connections to the once abundant river life and habitat.

The question remains: “What exists beyond time?”
