Archibald Prize 2023

First awarded in 1921, the Archibald Prize was established following a bequest from former Art Gallery Trustee and Founder of The Bulletin magazine, J.F. Archibald, whose aim was to foster portraiture, support artists and perpetuate the memory of great Australians.

“It’s an exhibition that showcases amazing artistic talent and can be enjoyed by the whole family – we expect to see large numbers through the Gallery while it’s on show,” says Tamworth Regional Gallery Director, Art Gallery & Museums, Bridget Guthrie.
