Celebrating its 17th year in 2025, 9 by 5 commemorates the original exhibition held in Melbourne in 1889. This featured artists Tom Roberts, Charles Conder, Arthur Streeton and Frederick McCubbin who produced uniform artwork on nine by five-inch cigar box lids. Arts in Greater Dandenong’s adaptation has now become a nationally recognised exhibition that celebrates diversity within the arts community, showcasing artists at all stages of their career, proving that small things can have a big impact.
