Is it possible to separate the art from the artist?
Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland-based artist John Vea’s show at 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art is both provocative and elegant.
“A keystone work in No Black Seas is a collectively authored large-scale sculpture made from over 50 sand-casted glass [pieces],” says ACE Open artistic director Patrice Sharkey.
“Painting is something that I am endlessly challenged and fascinated by. And I struggle with it,” Maestri says.
