This exhibition explores the elemental response of contemporary Aboriginal artists to their environment: connecting ancestral Dreaming – earthly memories handed down by the world’s oldest living oral tradition – speakingwith, speaking to and spoken by the elders and the elements themselves.
Listening, watching and conversing with the earth is how Aboriginal people survived and thrived, and is the foundation for all cultural knowledge and customs. The works in this exhibition underscore ancient cultural practice and lore, without conforming to any artistic disciplinary convention.
