Solo exhibition

The artist’s 1998 photographic series Flyblown evokes the colonial history of Australia and its powerful contemporary residue through a depiction of a familiar landscape of red earth and big sky, heavy with symbolic purpose. A native galah is pictured decomposing on dried ground while water flows freely in another image. These sit amongst three works that depict a mirrored crucifix as a looming presence in the landscape, albeit one that recedes by reflecting it’s surroundings.
