On My Father’s Drawing Board
Douglas is an Adelaide Hills artist who was an art educator for 24 years with the South Australian School of Art. In the late 1930s his father bought a wooden drawing board when he began studying art in college. Ed grew up knowing that board to be a part of his father’s studio. In 2014 when his father died in California Ed sent the board home to Australia where he is now using it as an element in each image of the series.
