In one way or another, all seven artists in the 28th edition of MCA’s annual Primavera exhibition appear to be feeling the same way.
Sydney-based artist Merran Esson has won the $20,000 acquisitive award in the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize 2019. Her ceramic work Autumn on the Monaro will become part of the permanent collection at Woollahra Council.
“I used to have a studio on Smith Street in Fitzroy, which I started with Damiano Bertoli, Ricky Swallow and Raafat Ishak. It’s still running today. But after more than 15 years, I moved to Reservoir and needed somewhere closer to home.”
In Gaia not the Goddess, an installation of sculptural objects packed tightly into the project space at Heide Museum, Isadora Vaughan continues her exploration of materials creating a speculative environment.
