Forest of Dis
An exploration of the relationship. This series of ink and watercolour drawings are an exploration of the artist’s meditations on the commonalities within our bodies and nature. The meticulous illustrations depict locations described in Dante’s epic poem ‘Divine Comedy’, and in Greek and Roman mythology, set within distinct Australian landscapes; the forests and waterways ranging from terrifying to awe inspiring. As such Antony Muia’s scenes probe at the duality of harmony and tension, a coexistence that underlines a shared responsibility for the future of our planet.
