This exhibition explores Western and Aboriginal conceptions of EMPIRE and the sites of its various incarnations. Sites of contestation and other sites subsumed by its power, the exhibition reviews the lasting impact EMPIRE has left upon contemporary society. A series of vignettes will navigate spatially the display reviewing areas from nationalism, modernity, and internationalism to post-colonialism, re-modernism, and repatriation. In collaboration with the Museum of Ancient Cultures. Curated by Martin Bommas.
