Crone

Rees is the Mona recipient of Suspended Moment: The Katthy Cavaliere Fellowship, a partnership with Carriageworks, Sydney and the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), Melbourne. Hobart-based Rees will create a new body of work centred around the Crone, through which the artist will challenge perceived invisibility of ageing women in contemporary society. Through the Crone, the artist seeks to redefine the female elder as a powerful and transgressive figure.

The exhibition will include a series of animations, prints and actions. Curated by Nicole Durling.
