BRISBANE ART DESIGN (BAD) 2019 is where art, design, and the city of Brisbane collide over a 17-day festival of dynamic exhibitions, performances, talks, art tours, workshops and open studios. The inaugural festival showcases over 150 Brisbane creatives, from emerging talents who are carving their mark locally, to trailblazers who redefine creativity on the international stage.
Founded by the Museum of Brisbane, BAD champions the movers and shakers of the Brisbane art and design sector, and spotlights our thriving cultural identity through the places, histories and climate that bring our collective creativity to the fore. With the Museum as the official BADhub, the biennale plans to spread across 25 venues throughout the CBD, West End, Fortitude Valley, Highgate Hill, South Brisbane, Woolloongabba, Bowen Hills and more. Placed at the heart of the program is a signature exhibition at the Museum, profiling our city’s brightest names in art and design.
