In the tales of popular culture, if a character encounters an interactive robot the occasion generally brings about one of two reactions: it’s either a wondrous, life-affirming moment, or it evokes total existential terror.
The theme for the next Biennale of Sydney (BoS), due to be held 16 March – 11 June 2018, has been announced.
“A typical day starts, before I even get to the studio, with emails and phone calls: I spend a lot of time negotiating with production people. Then I’ll work in the studio in the afternoon before I might head over to the foundry to check on a work being made in bronze.”
Practice makes perfect, but that doesn’t make it any easier. Kate Rohde has spent the past 10 years or so honing what she has described as a “hyperactive” practice.
