An exploration of the impact of consumerism on nature and the necessity of recyclable arts practice. This exhibition will celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the gallery.

Showcasing the work of its founding members, the exhibition is packed with works from the 1980s up to the present day. The Boomalli Ten feels like a celebration not just of those 10 artists but more broadly of the Indigenous Australian art now flourishing in the post-colonial present.
Amalia Pica was born in Argentina and is currently working in London. Her exhibition at the IMA is to be presented in two parts, but her first solo in Australia is not the beginning of her relationship with Brisbane.
My first experience of Cementa in Kandos, NSW, (at the base of Combamolang Mountain) was Cementa 2015, its second iteration. The Twilight Girls (Jane Polkinghorne and myself) were invited to exhibit and we were collaborating with Mark Shorter in his guise as Renny Kodgers.
Imagine an open-aired band rotunda filled with 38 upside-down snare drums, all hanging from the ceiling. With drumsticks hovering over the mirrored drum skins, the scene is a literal suspension of disbelief.
