The Burnie Coastal Art Group’s ever popular annual exhibition TASART, now in its 39th year, continues attracting well-known local and interstate artists.

Even though Chinese-Australian artist Lindy Lee has changed and refined her art practice over time there are certain themes that continually pervade her work.
Like many exhibitions, Telaesthesia began with conversation. “The five artists in this exhibition all shared a studio space for several years until 2012 and we would sit around our kitchen table and talk about what it meant to be painting in a post-digital and post-internet world,” says curator and artist Tony Lloyd.
In the tales of popular culture, if a character encounters an interactive robot the occasion generally brings about one of two reactions: it’s either a wondrous, life-affirming moment, or it evokes total existential terror.
Murray Fredericks and Tom Schutzinger’s three-channel video installation Inside the Dome (DYE 2), 2015, was filmed in an abandoned early warning missile detection facility on Greenland’s remote – and spectacular – western ice sheet.
