Brett Whiteley: other places (somewhere else)
Whiteley (1939–1992) is regarded as one of Australia’s most iconic artists, winning many major prizes and awards, and with works in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia; Tate Gallery, London; and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to view many of Brett Whiteley’s most intimate and personal works completed during his many travels to London, Paris, New York, the Asia Pacific region and Queensland. Presented in partnership with the Art Gallery of New South Wales, it includes loans from the Whiteley Studio and major Australian public and private collections. An Art Gallery of New South Wales and Brett Whitely Studio touring exhibition developed in partnership with Cairns Regional Gallery.
