“The physical sensations we experience as we peer into a painting come not only from what the eyes behold. What derives from ocular sense may at times ‘sing’ like a cacophony in our ears, or induce feelings of nausea like an aroma of spices, coffee or instant noodles. Can this process–taking visual cues that cause physiological effects–be reversed? Can there be an attempt to perpetuate physical sensations we otherwise obtain from our tastebuds into a physical form?
My works in this iteration represent traces of intersections between the act of ‘painting’ and my attempt to expand my artistic practice into an enquiry of pan-sensual experience.”
