2016 Stencil Art Prize

With its origins in New York’s 1960s counter culture, stencil art has in recent decades taken the world by storm. The 2016 Stencil Art Prize showcases the work of more than eighty Australian and international artists from all corners of the globe. Influenced by the ephemeral nature of street art, the mixed media stencils blend pop-culture imagery with social and political messages to canvas myriad modern-day concerns. Now in its eighth year – and making its South Australian debut – it is the world’s largest stencil art event.
